Well we're officially 15 days away from the first day of summer (and my beach trip!), so you know what that means..sporadic summer adventures and a change in style. This is definitely the time of year when buttons get undone and prints scream louder than in the summer months. I couldn't resist taking a few shots outside of the Juice Shop during one of these sporadic smoothie outings!
One of your favorite parts about the summer should be the different ways you get can style your clothes. In the colder months, we pretty much button/zip everything up to stay warm. In the summer though, like in this look, you have more options in how you can wear your clothing (aka how you style them). This includes of course, tying a flannel around your waist or wearing it almost like a jacket.
This is a styling tip that many guys are afraid of. The typical macho sleeve roll with a button or two undone is something you'll see everywhere you go. Most guys may think that anything different than this might be feminine. Well...ok.
Here's the thing: clothes don't come with an instruction tag on them saying when and how to wear them. Cuffing your pants, leaving a few buttons undone, tying a hoodie/flannel around your waist...these are all practical ways to wear clothes. We've just been programmed to wear clothes a certain way based on the environment we were raised in. Don't be afraid to explore them!
Your main takeaway is to try new things. Use one less loophole on your shoes when you're lacing them up. Tie a light jacket around your waist as opposed to throwing it in the car if you really don't need it. Try new things and you'll feel like a brand new person. Life's too short to wear boring clothes in boring ways!
What do you think of this look? Would you try styling your flannels like this? I'd love to know in the comments!
