Gratitude, joy, sensitivity, love, friendship; these are all emotions that stir up around this time of the year. Not only that, but they're also traits synonymous with the color red. My favorite past time dating back to when I first became a book nerd in high school, was grabbing a red cup from you know where (and letting go of too much loose change) and making my living room smell like Starbucks while enjoying a good book.
Ever since the cold weather has kicked in, I've been naturally drawn back to this time in my life and the color red more than ever. Its a great way to add personality to any look, as well as remind everyone of what time of the year it is...in case they forgot.
As opposed of jumping into the red sea of pants or red blazers, a cozy flannel like this from H&M is a safe start (not to mention, it compliments your morning pick-me-up cup). Hunter Green, black, white, and indigo are the best colors to add contrast to a look while wearing red. It'll make sure you avoid looking washed out and make the red in your outfit this winter, whether it be the ugly Christmas sweater or a pair of red pants, the focal point of your outfit.
