The answer is: no. If you're wearing a cherry red tie, you should NOT be wearing a cherry red pocket square. But but but... here's the catch; your tie and pocket square can compliment each other. If you throw some polka dots on that cherry red pocket square (which is probably hard to look at to begin with) then you get a thumbs up from me.
When you were 14 years old, your mom probably bought you a shirt and tie that came together in a plastic packaging.
Why did I just make you take a trip down memory lane?
Because that should've been the only time that you wear a matching pocket square and tie, but just like me, you didn't know any better. The pocket squares above compliment each other because although they're the same pattern, they're completely different colors.
How do you choose what pocket square you're going to wear? Let me know in the comments or on social media and I'll get back to you ASAP.
